BREAKING NEWS: BUILDMIND GOES MOBILE

The building and construction Industry has been buzzing with big events and conferences this past week, but by no means has the industry come to a standstill. All the while people were collaborating around the country, we have been hard at work developing new features and functionality on the BuildMind website, and more importantly our most exciting new product: we now bring you a mobisite!

This mobisite will let you create, manage and update your profile from your WAP enabled cellphone or smartphone, which will be up and running from next Monday (26 September). It is fully functional according to what the actual website can do and you can find leads, opportunities, news and connect with your peers.

You will need to first register on the mobisite in order to be able to track your BuildLeads, so go to www.buildmind.mobi/ today, update your profile, get leads and get found!

Back on the main site, some new fields have been added to your profile form to make it easy for you to get found. This will move your profile to the top of the list on social media networks such as Google, Facebook, Twitter (etc.) to make sure you get found fast – it only takes a minute.

Look out for the new I-Mag section, which will allow you to automatically track and follow thought leaders, news and information in your field. It will look and act like a magazine, but each will contain the specific information you want and need.

We have also changed and upgraded the Marketplace section. You can view tenders, products, projects, ask questions and learn about best practices in your field.

The new Press Office function, dedicated to you (and visible to your network), will allow you to profile your company, services, products, projects and people in one place. It’s a great way to get the word out there about your business and its absolutely free!

BuildMind will also now allow you to map your location with the new Geo-map function. This tool lets people see where you are and where they can find you.

Please send us your feedback about what you think of our new site, just click the “email us” tab on the bottom of the page. Tell us what you like, don’t like and anything else you would like to see on the site.

Until next time, happy networking!

Tagging your posts

Much like Google, BuildMind’s search engine users will use word tags to find content and people on the site. For example, if PPC Cement wants an article about all-purpose cement to be found, PPC Cement would need to tag as follows:

PPC Cement, cement, all-purpose, 32, 5R, Surebuild, multi-purpose, general purpose

To get the best search results for you business, be sure to tag your profile, products and services, your articles and any content you publish on BuildMind with as many words as you can think of which will be used to search for solutions or information you provide.

Upcoming industry events:

International Housing & Home Warranty Conference

Green Building Council of South Africa Convention and Exhibition

Africa Infrastructure 2012
